Marco Polo was refurbished in November 2014 at Damen Shiprepair Vlissingen (shipyard in Vlissingen Holland). The work was done by Damen (ship-repair and vessel conversion company). Drydock 2014 featured an extensive survey and regular maintenance works - hull washing-painting, lifeboats maintenance-recertification, valves overhaul, gangway platforms repair. We had some wonderful waiters who quickly remembered our names even though we were only onboard one night / two days. There are also a surprisingly large number of bars for a ship of this size and we always found somewhere to sit – something that can’t be said about many larger ships.
